HISTORY & BACKGROUND
Vico Milano opened in 2021 and is the passion project of Neri Baccheschi Berti. Neri has turned his vision of creating an ultra- boutique hotel in Italy’s most cosmopolitan city into a reality. Much like its sister property Castello di Vicarello, family is at the very heart of this project. Neri converted the building, which was previously operating as the studio and showroom for his mother’s fashion brand, into a seven-room luxury hotel. Vico is a new generation boutique hotel and unlike anything else in Milan – a completely discreet, easy-going, and unique experience for travelers.
LOCATION
Positioned in one of the city’s most sought-after locations, Corso Genova 11, the boutique property is just a short walk to the Duomo and the fashionable district of Via Tortona, home to designer showrooms and a Milan Fashion Week hotspot. Vico is also a short walk to the historic landmark Colonne di San Lorenzo and to Navigli – one of the city’s most popular neighborhoods.
DESIGN & CONCEPT
Vico Milano is a project led by Sicilian architect Giuseppe Alito, who collaborated with Neri on the concept of the space and also designed many of the furniture pieces, all handcrafted by artisans in Tuscany and Sicily. Neri has also drawn on influences from his own life to create the bespoke home away from home, sourcing pieces from around the world for the hotel.
These include beautiful handmade bathroom tiles from Fez, Morocco, green marble from Tinos, Greece and pink marble from Sienna which was later turned into a large marble and oak table sitting in the library. Guests will also appreciate lighting throughout the hotel from the Coordinates Collection by Michael Anastassiades for FLOS. Together with handpicked vintage design furniture, carpets from Morrocco and rattan chairs from Italian designer Carminati, guests will appreciate a unique fusion of cultures, colors and materials, a true realization of Neri and Giuseppe’s vision.
ACCOMMODATION
Vico Milano is home to one room and six suites, each of similar size apart from two larger suites. The rooms range in size from 25sqm–40sqm. The design of the suites is consistent with the hotel’s aesthetic, yet each bedroom has a distinct bedroom and bathroom, as well as unique furniture and works of art. Bathrooms feature amenities such as Aesop toiletries and Dyson hairdryers. Guests will also enjoy turndown service every evening.
DINING
Vico Milano currently does not have a restaurant on site, but guests are able to enjoy a Milanese breakfast every morning. Vico also features a lovely cocktail and wine bar for a pre-dinner aperitivo, where guests can enjoy wines from sister property Castello di Vicarello, as well as special cocktails such as the Vico Negroni. In September 2025, Vico’s new speakeasy cocktail bar & restaurant will launch.
WINE
Wine is available from Vico Milano’s sister property, Castello Di Vicarello in Tuscany, which is home to seven hectares of high-density, organically grown vineyards. The estate produces several varieties of organic blends, including Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot which were each chosen to honor the classic wines of Tuscany, and Sangiovese. A stable of Tuscan winemaking is blended with Merlot to create an alternative interpretation of the Maremma. The wine is made organically, with natural sulphur and copper being the only treatments used during production. This unique approach and the resulting quality has led to multiple awards and accolades, including 5 Grappoli di Bibenda, Super 3 Stelle Veronelli, Platinum Medal from Decanter UK and the Great Gold Medal at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
